The elusive Sleep
The numerous sleepless nights,
To achieve the dream of own house,
Are still extending in the luxurious bed
In the tiny room on the seventh floor,
For now the reason is suffocation..
From the scarcity of nature around!

Building – My Story
Once a humble abode, in the open expanse
Taking gigantic strides, standing tall,
I have now reached for the skies.
Inspired, all from my clan followed my path,
Now, surrounded and stifled,
Alas, I once again long for the open expanse!!

In 1994 IIT Guwahati logo was designed by Yeshwant Chaudhary, graduated being first in the class from the Sir J. J. Institute of Applied Arts at Bombay. He also designed Housing Development Finance Corporation Limited –HDFC Logo. And this is still in use even after 38 years. To know more about the legendery designer visit Series on Design masters in India where you can find the works of Yeshwant Chaudhary.
Meaning of IIT Guwahati Logo
IIT Guwahati logo is based on the concept of sound connection between the mind, body and soul. The concept underlines the deep philosophy of cosmic beliefs in the field of Yoga (a philosophy practice in India since the Vedic times). The triad connected with sound training and education creates a unified assimilation of true Indian values of education. (Source: D’source, IIT Bombay)
Design process and formal significance of IIT Guwahati Logo is explained by Yeshwant Chaudhary. Three yogic centres Mind, Body and Heart achieving dynamics of aspiration.
Mind – Perceptivity and Research – visualised by Persian Blue
Heart – Creativity and Development – visualised by Indian Red
Body – Qualitative Productivity – visualised by White
The Purusha representing Generative Technology and can be visualised by Yellow Ochre. Being the central factor, Purusha moves the three forces together to generate an interactive momentum. This can be visualised well in the logo with red interacting with blue, white with red and blue with white with yellow at the centre and around the periphery. This well depicted here in IIT Guwahati logo by Yeshwant Chaudhary. This interactive momentum achieving aspirative technology onto the dynamics in order and in continuum. This logo in true sense depicting the true values of Indian Education.

Early morning chirps all around,
Different voices & different sounds,
Flocks of pigeons touring & racing,
Moving swaying with you all astound,
Love to watch u fly high,
Gives me hope to dream & try,
Coz stopping is not an option,
And whatever, however it is we ain’t cry.
Photo Poetry on Birds Photography by Aadhira
Freedom
The hole, my nest was safe..
The food around kept me alive..
But being holed curbed my wings..
And taught me, surviving isn’t living..
I flew out, stretching my wings..
Now, I’ve the sky to soar and a life to live!

Fly High…
Let go of the dark
Flutter your wings and fly high

My entry to Cherry On Top, would love to highlight the colours, adding vibrancy and contrast as well to this photograph. It was really a serene experience while walking along with Palkhi in Pandharpur Yatra last year. I captured these colours during my spiritual journey in Dindi. These are decorative pieces on the horns of an Ox. I have cropped this photograph near to get the feel of composition in rule of thirds.
My entry to Cherry On Top, would love to highlight the details, that made viewing this photograph a good experience. I loved the reflections on the Samaya comming from yellow rangoli sand and orange flowers aside. You can use this simple rangoli pattern for borders around shapes like round, rectangular etc. Putting simple dots of rangoli around Samaya and using a match box stick has made it more beautiful!

Looking up really can teach many things in real life too. Here is the flyover perspective from the bottom of the bridge. We can use this technique in photography and in real life as well. The technique is named as PERSPECTIVE.
While looking up you can learn many things. Today I would like to introduce one of the photography techniques most useful for composition and balance. For Rule of Thirds Example, photograph of flight is cropped for improving the composition and alignment of an image in the frame. For further interesting rule of third examples and theory about rule of thirds you can google the subject.

The first marketing initiative of its kind, Incredible India was conceptualized in 2002. The team behind the campaign was V Sunil from O&M Delhi and Amitabh Kant from Ministry of Tourism. The whole campaign was aimed at branding to create a distinctive identity for the country. The exercise resulted in the iconic Incredible India logo. The Department of Tourism team was behind the conceptualization of the logo involving V.K. Duggal, Rathi Vinay Jha and Aitabh Kant.
Meaning of Incredible India Logo
In 2004, the Ministry of Tourism in India initiated the glorious “Incredible India” campaign with the main theme of “Atithi Devo Bhava”meaning ‘Guest is God’; with an aim to create a sensitivity towards tourists visiting India and the stakeholders facilitating the development of tourism in India. The exclamation mark forms the ‘I” of India. The exclamation used creatively across several visuals compliments the concept behind the word “Incredible” (Source: D’source, IIT Bombay)
Exclamation sign in Incredible India logo was used to great effect across all communications. The campaign successfully established India as a high-end tourist destination, generating a 16% increase in tourist traffic in the first year. (Source: incredibleindiacampaign.com). The campaign execution was mainly done in foreign markets in both print and digital media. Some of the work with creative use of Incredible Indian Logo can be viewed on their website.

Bengaluru-based Graphic Design studio Ray and Kesavan designed the logo for Kotak Mahindra Finance Limited. The task was to unify the offerings by Kotak from loans to investments under a single bank brand. The brand needed to be one integrated entity, externally and internally. It also needed a strategy that would help it compete effectively with well-established players and quickly transform its current perception of a ‘Mumbai-based brokerage’ to a national bank. They also wanted to make pride of the roots of the brand in ‘Indianess’
KOTAK Logo Designed by Ray+Keshavan
Meaning of KOTAK Logo
The letter form for ‘k’ in the Devanagari (‘क’) script was crafted to include the symbol for infinity in its form. The symbol of ‘Ka’, made it of distinctly Indian origin; while its curves form the universal ‘infinity’ sign, thus reflecting group’s uniquely global Indian personality. The Devanagari ‘Ka’ (‘क’) – has the knot of ‘ka’ (‘क’) around the strong red stem. This unit within the strong dark blue circle projects superiority, victory, strong foundation and stability. The group has thought on the basic tenets of economists that, man’s needs are unlimited. The infinite ‘Ka’ (‘क’) symbolises that we have the infinite number of ways to meet those needs.

Thanks to WordPress for this week’s photo challenge Abstract, I could read some basic information about the subject. I tried to share that information here for last few days. Lets revisit here,
Abstract Photography is not hard to job but getting good abstract is not an easy job! As the word abstract is, the definition of abstract photography is also not having the exact definition. But for the definition, it is a photography which does not represent the subject in a literal way. And is communicated primarily through shape, form, colour, pattern, texture and curves rather than image detail.
Already defining abstract photography, now we will see some ways to get wonderful abstract photos by simple techniques.
In 1994, ICICI bank set up extending its start from 1955 as an initiative of World Bank, Indian Government and Indian Industry for creating a finance institution. Sudarshan Dheer, the Grand Master of Corporate Communication in India designed the identity for ICICI Bank Bombay Branch. Many of the very well established corporates have their identity designed by Sudarshan Dheer. We always experience the perfect bonding of art and design in his logos like HPCL, Titan, ESSAR. For more details on Sudarshan Dheer you can read Series on Design Masters in India at Design in India.
