Dindi, pilgrimage to Pandharpur (Lord Vishnu Temple), followed by millions of Varkari (a pilgrim) is a unique aspect of culture in Maharashtra. These Varkaris from all over Maharashtra participates in Dindi every year. They walk, sing, dance and live this festival for 22 days with full of life. This spiritual happiness creates the environment full of serenity. Serene expressions caught in the camera in 2013 are illustrated as assuming myself in the frame. As varkari is called as Mauli (Mother), the project is titled as ‘Mi (I) Mauli’. One of the works is posted for this week’s Life Imitates Art.
