Fourth Week of New Year celebrated with Hand Lettering! Wonderful opportunity to showcase some hand lettering art here. Posted few works using chalk on the wall, Rangoli Designs, Pen on Paper through out the week. The Alphabets all together will give a visual treat with chalks, Rangoli and a Quote. The last day of this week’s challenge which gave me a wonderful opportunity to showcase some hand lettering art here. Posted few works using chalk on the wall, Rangoli Designs through out the week. The last entry for Alphabet which is the inspiring quote in Hindi Lettering. The lines say, “Work is Difficult hence worth Doing, Otherwise ordinary works are done by All”. For more projects on Hand Lettering visit the portfolio page. Also find some interesting photos in my entries to weekly photo challenges.
This week there is again wonderful opportunity to showcase some hand lettering art here. Posting few works using chalk on the wall. For more projects on Hand Lettering visit the portfolio page. The third entry for Alphabet which is the lettering way to celebrate birthday of my nephew. The art has combo of Devnagari (Marathi) and English script. We always celebrate the events with chalk art to express our emotions. Find more stuff on weekly photo challenges.
Basics Strokes of Devnagari Calligraphy creating beautiful patterns called CalliPatterns. All the strokes are transformed in a round shape to indicate unity. Though not tried here, some other basic shapes like rectangle, square will also create beauty. Some more transformations can be viewed at CalliPatterns.
The hand lettering excercise tries on paper with ink and then trace in photoshop. This agao=in printed on paper. It always inspire me as I pulled it from my father’s design. It says: It worth doing the task which is difficult otherwise, ordinary tasks are done by all. There may be many quotes like this but it inspires me more. I am sure you will find The Artist’s Eye in this.

While browsing, came across some of the learning resources on calligraphy. A lot of Project Ideas are mentioned at Dancing Pen Caligraphy. Exhibtion of the work by some of world renowned calligraphers is interesting and can be visited at Calligraphy Expo. The project participants are from almost every corner of the globe. It has books on calligraphy mainly in Russian. I would like to recommend Art of Calligraphy by David Harris which is in English. We can down load the book here.
Three Indian Calligraphers Achyut Palav, Manohar Desai and Qamar Dagar have also exhibited thier work. Specially I am great fan of Achyut Palav and my brother is trained at his School of Calligraphy.
